Selecting Export from the File menu launches the Export Bitmap Dialog where you can specify the width and height of the bitmap you are about to export, in dots, screen inches and printer inches. It also lets you specify the number of colors that each dot can represent (the color depth).
Selecting the Maximum Colors drop-down list selects the color depth for your exported bitmap. Some bitmapped formats do not allow all color depths. For example, GIF’s always have a color depth of 256.
When exporting to a GIF you can specify a background color that will become transparent when viewed with FotoFinish Studio and Suite and most web browsers. You can also choose whether the exported file should be in interlaced or non-interlaced format. Interlaced images display more quickly than non-interlaced, but take longer to come into focus.
